An Internal Combustion Engine Simulator “Adafruit Industries – Makers, Hackers, Artists, Designers and Engineers!”

A complete overhead camshaft internal combustion engine simulator written in C.

Probably the dumbest project I’ve ever done, it was an odyssey. It’s hard to fully explain the depth of the rabbit hole I was led down, but in the end, I only came out partially broken.

As the title suggests, this is a physically realistic (or at least somewhat realistic) internal combustion engine simulation. It also generates a sound which in my opinion is one of the best procedurally generated sounds for a V8 engine I have ever heard.

Stop the breadboard and soldering – start crafting right away! Adafruit’s Circuit Playground is packed with LEDs, sensors, buttons, alligator clips, and more. Build projects with Circuit Playground in minutes with the Drag-and-drop MakeCode programming sitelearn computer science using the CS Discoveries course on code.org, dive into CircuitPython to learn Python and hardware together, TinyGO, or even use the Arduino IDE. Circuit Playground Express is the newest and best Circuit Playground board, with support for CircuitPython, MakeCode and Arduino. It has a powerful processor, 10 NeoPixels, a mini speaker, infrared reception and transmission, two buttons, a switch, 14 crocodile clips and numerous sensors: touch capacitive, IR proximity, temperature, light, motion and sound. A whole world of electronics and coding awaits you, and it fits in the palm of your hand.
