Under the hood, the 2022 Maruti Baleno will continue to draw power from the 1.2-liter K-series engine that powers the current model. However, the top-of-the-line Alpha trim will be available with a 1.5-liter K-Series gasoline engine option. This engine produces 103 hp of power and 138 Nm of torque. Basically it’s the same engine as the Maruti Vitara Brezza. It will be paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission with Smart Hybrid technology. The current version comes with an 83 hp 1.2-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine which will remain unchanged. For the transmission, you can choose between a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic.
