It should be noted that the special edition 35 TDI is, according to Audi, Australia’s most fuel-efficient diesel SUV thanks to a 12-volt mild-hybrid system and start-stop technology, and with a 70 litres, “allows a theoretical autonomy of more than 1400 km”.
Standard equipment on the special edition Q5 35 TDI includes 20-inch wheels, LED headlights, electronic tailgate, leather-trimmed interior, electronically controlled front seats, three-zone climate control and a ambient lighting.
Media task management is a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, digital radio and an eight-speaker audio system.

Special edition versions are also available for the 40 TDI Sport and 45 TFSI Sport, which feature unique 20-inch wheels, but lose a panoramic sunroof and telephone box lighting “due to current restricted availability”, according to Audi.
As such, the Special Editions are positioned below the Sport grades, priced at $77,600 (-$1,100) and $79,400 (-$1,400) respectively.
For reference, the 40 TDI uses a 150kW/400Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, while the 45 TFSI is powered by a 183kW/370Nm 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, but Audi quotes an output of 140 kW and 185 kW for the special editions.
